Summer Breeze Part 1

I chose this photo as my featured deviation for a few reasons.
For one, it's my first ever HDR, and although a lot better can be done, for my first attempt i'm quite happy with the results.
Secondly, for me, it shows how i've grown as a photographer. You see this photo has been over a month in the making. I've always liked the field and in the past month i've been buying new camera equipment (i.e polar filter for one), making notes on the lighting and cloud formations each day at different times and i've been coming back at different times in the day to see how it feels at each point.
Finally, on the day i took it, it felt right, i actually got quite a few good shots but this one, being my original idea, will most probably stay my favourite.
For me it shows how i've changed from a point, shoot, edit photographer to someone who now understands and takes more time in the photograph itself, and not just what photoshop can do to it later.

Gallery clean up

Well then, 100+ deviations whittled down to just 16 ... quite a trim!
Basically, i needed a clean up - i felt it was time for me to get my gallery in order and only focus on one aspect of art. For me this is photography. I chose that because out of all the art i do it's the one i find myself most intrigued by. As well as this, i find it's something that i keep improving at and experimenting with, something that i don't do with other art forms due to my focus on school projects.
I apologise for any comments and favourites that have now been deleted, but i hope you'll agree that by focusing solely on photography i can now improve my gallery greatly.
I will, of course, miss uploading some of my other art work .. but, i think overall this move is for the best.

Hello, i'm Niall Lucas.
I've been interested in art ever since i can remember and am currently studying it at my first year in sixth form, along with media studies, philosophy and ethics, and product design.
I've been a deviant for little over a year now and have concentrated my gallery on my photography. I mostly shoot nature pictures but i will photograph anything that inspires me. I experiment a lot with my photos' in post-editing and am always amazed at the results people can achieve using some of the programs available. As well as the digital aspect, i'm also interested in the use of equipment and techniques within photography itself, and even though an amateur, i'm always looking to learn and improve and become a better photographer.
