Summer Breeze Part 1

I chose this photo as my featured deviation for a few reasons.
For one, it's my first ever HDR, and although a lot better can be done, for my first attempt i'm quite happy with the results.
Secondly, for me, it shows how i've grown as a photographer. You see this photo has been over a month in the making. I've always liked the field and in the past month i've been buying new camera equipment (i.e polar filter for one), making notes on the lighting and cloud formations each day at different times and i've been coming back at different times in the day to see how it feels at each point.
Finally, on the day i took it, it felt right, i actually got quite a few good shots but this one, being my original idea, will most probably stay my favourite.
For me it shows how i've changed from a point, shoot, edit photographer to someone who now understands and takes more time in the photograph itself, and not just what photoshop can do to it later.

... and shoot!
It's been quite a while since i've been out with the camera due to a lot of school work and some other things 'getting in the way'.
I have managed to edit and process some images that i never got round to before, but really i'm fed up of looking at the same old things, i wanna get some new images shot.
Sadly it's kind of a bad time. Not only is the weather anything but special, but my local area hasn't exactly got anything i want to shoot. Especially as i've shot a lot of it before.
I'm hoping to go to some farther away places and get some better photo's in .. but not being able to drive etc. kind of gets in the way.
Still ... i'm going to try and get some shooting sessions in, i'm getting an itchy shutter-finger!

Hello, i'm Niall Lucas.
I've been interested in art ever since i can remember and am currently studying it in my second year at sixth form, along with media studies and philosophy and ethics.
I've been a deviant for little over a year now and have concentrated my gallery on my photography. I mostly shoot nature pictures but i will photograph anything that inspires me. I experiment a lot with my photos' in post-editing and am always amazed at the results people can achieve using some of the programs available. As well as the digital aspect, i'm also interested in the use of equipment and techniques within photography itself, and even though an amateur, i'm always looking to learn and improve and become a better photographer.
